The doctor is in

One of the students’ favorite places to play in the classroom is the doctor’s office. The addition of a few simple costumes has created a new level of meaningful play.  The children take turns being the patient and doctor and quickly come up with new ailments or reasons why they need to be seen by the physician on call. These range from fevers, colds, cuts and bruises, and various transplants. However, some students remembered that we also visit the doctor even when we’re feeling well, such as check-ups and when you are pregnant.  The doctors write prescriptions, dole out band aids, and give out shots like they are candy. Perhaps we have some future doctors in our midst!
